I was pretty surprised at the level of magnification that could be coaxed out of my Canon G6 set on “macro” to catch this butterfly. Fortunately, the light was good and I was able to stop down quite a bit. I think this is a Pipevine Swallowtail, but feel free to correct me if that’s not true.
We just got back from Switzerland, and I brought back quite a few images, as you can imagine. It was not always easy to steal time away from my family, parents and friends, though. Ah, decisions, decisions. 
More about that (hopefully) soon. In the interest of some measure of continuity, I have decided to still post a few shots from before the vacation. Please bear with me, I hope to catch up in the next few weeks!
